Porsha Williams Files for Divorce from Simon Guobadia
Reality TV star Porsha Williams has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia, just shy of two years into their marriage.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Williams submitted the divorce papers on Thursday (Feb. 22) in Atlanta.
Despite recent speculation surrounding Guobadia’s citizenship status, a source clarified that their split is unrelated to these allegations but rather an ongoing issue.
Their whirlwind romance saw them getting engaged just one month after they began dating in May 2021. They tied the knot in November 2022, celebrating with two lavish weddings – one featuring a traditional Nigerian theme and the other an American ceremony.
Before news of their separation broke, Williams made headlines earlier this month with her return to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for season 16, after departing from the franchise in 2021.
Williams, 42, is a mother to daughter Pilar, 4, from her previous relationship with ex Dennis McKinley. However, she and Guobadia, 59, do not share any children together.
As of now, neither Williams nor Guobadia has publicly commented on their separation.
